Watermelon Candy Artisan Soap Bar

Watermelon Candy is a fun watermelon themed soap. It is my second watermelon soap, and I think it's way better than my first one! It smells like sweet watermelon, candy, vanilla, and a little bit of rose. The soap bar focuses on the watermelon candy fragrance, while the matching Body Cream focuses a little more on the vanilla and rose notes!

For this soap, I decided to go with a watermelon design I’ve been wanting to make for a while. The watermelon soap I made last year felt a little plain, so I wanted to spice this one up a bit! The bottom layer has a lime green and a dark green, which I swirled together as I took turns pouring them into the mold. Then, I made a very light mint color, almost white, and layered it on top of the green layer to mimic the greenish-white part of the watermelon rind. Finally, it was time for the best part of the watermelon!. My previous watermelon soap only had one red color for the flesh of the watermelon, but this time I wanted three different shades of red. So I made a nice red color, a pastel red color, and a pink color. I poured those colors on top of the previous layer, swirling them together as I poured them. This swirl technique is called a ‘Drop Swirl’, since dropping each color into the mold swirls them together in a unique way! Last year, I put poppy seeds in the red layer to represent the seeds in the watermelon, but with the new design I really wanted the colors and swirls to be the star. So I decided to leave the poppy seeds out of the soap, and use them for decoration on top of the soap bars. I used a fork to create a rake-like texture leading to the center of each bar, and then placed poppy seeds down the center of each bar!
